Find out why physicians come in for their own liposuction. Because we specialize in local liposuction, we have the highest safety margins and you can return to work in a day. ALL of our patients in the before and after pictures were done under local anesthesia, which minimizes post op pain, swelling and complications due to general anesthesia.
Operation: Liposuction improves body shape by removing exercise-resistant fat deposits with a tube and vacuum device. Liposuction can be performed using the tumescent technique, in which targeted fat cells are infused with saline solution (which containes a local anesthetic) before liposuction to reduce post-operative bruising and swelling. Common locations for liposuction include chin lipo, cheeks lipo, neck lipo, upper arms lipo, lipo of breasts, abdomen lipo, buttocks liposuction, hips liposuction, thighs liposuction, knees lipo, calve liposuction, and ankles. For larger volumes of fat or for fibrous body areas, ultrasound-assisted lipoplasty (UAL) may be used. UAL is a new technique in which an ultrasound probe is inserted beneath the skin to "liquefy" the fat before it is suctioned. We can do this at Liposuction Havana Cuba.
Operation Time for liposuction(estimate): Duration time varies from 1-2 hours or more depending on the type of liposuction performed. UAL is 20-40 percent longer than traditional liposuction.
Anesthesia/Pain Control for liposuction: This procedure is normally performed under local anesthesia but depending on the type of liposuction it can also be performed under general or epidural.
Location: It is usually an outpatient procedure in our Liposuction Havana Cuba but extensive operations may require short inpatient stay.
Side effects of liposuction (Possible): Temporary bruising, swelling, numbness, soreness, or burning sensation may occur. If the tumescent technique is used there may be temporary fluid drainage from the incision sites. The UAL procedure may have larger incisions for cannula.Major side effects are not common in Liposuction Havana Cuba.
Complications of liposuction(Possible): Some possible complications that can occur are infection, asymmetry, rippling or bagginess of skin, pigmentation changes, skin injuries, fluid retention, excessive fluid loss leading to shock. The UAL procedure may result in thermal burns caused by the heat generated by the ultrasound device.
Downtime after liposuction: Patients can go back to work in 1 to 2 days. A patient may participate in more strenuous activities in 1 to 2 weeks. The use of the tumescent technique or UAL may decrease post-operative bruising and swelling.
Duration of Results: Results are permanent with sensible diet and exercise.
